Permanent residents of Second Chance

The following birds have come to the shelter from different backgrounds, some of them extremely unfortunate. They are here to stay in the sanctuary, to be cared for and loved forever.

Scarlet Scarlet, a female Eclectus
Sassy Sassy a 2 yr old Quaker who's mom passed away ,and she was brought here to remain here.
Koko Koko a 11 month old Rose-breasted Cockatoo donated for educational programs.


Luke & Leya, 28 yr old bonded breeding pair of M2's, by owners request they will remain here with us.
Ricky, male Eclectus, will remain with us at SCBR.
Fred & Ethel Blue front Amazons, These two are a bonded pair that were seized by a human society for neglect,and have been brought here to live out their lives.
Major, 4 yr old Military Macaw. He will remain here as a sanctuary bird,By owners request.
Whyatte is a male hawk head, gorgeous bird but quick to bite.
Bindy is a molluccan cockatoo awaiting abdominal hernia surgery.

Josh and Meile are un unlikely bonded pair of conures. They are temporarily unavailable.
Mr. Red is a 14 year old macaw who hates men and has biting issues.
Ellie, a 13-year old female Citron Cockatoo.  She has fatty liver disease.

This is Lionus, a male 17 year old Severe Macaw who is being worked with for biting issues.
Pepee is a Blue Front Amazon and he is 30 years of age. He has fatty liver disesase.
Piney is a 10-year old Blue Headed Pionus.

Henrietta is a Blue and Gold Macaw of known age.  He is wild caught and had his beak bitten by another macaw. 
Jack is a wild-caught male Greenwing Macaw of unknown age.  His wings were broken by a breeder to prevent him from flying. 
Buddy and Baby This is Buddy and Baby.  They will remain Second Chance residents.
Braveheart This is Braveheart, a 12 year old male African Grey who has been severely abused.  Braveheart has found his forever home here with us as the shelter's mascot.

Kiko.gif (31320 bytes) This is Kiko.  Kiko is a 4 year old Senegal Parrot.  Kiko will remain a Second Chance resident.
Aries This is Aries, a 2 year old female Congo African Grey.
This is Cuddles, a 16 year old female Umbrella Cockatoo.  Cuddles has found her forever home here at Second Chance.
Seymour, a 16 year old Lessor Sulpher Crested Cockatoo, used to be a showbird and is extremely agressive.

000_1084 (Medium).jpg (27886 bytes) This is Joey, a 2 year old Cockatiel, who came to us as a breeder with severe chest plucking.  We are not sure if his feathers will ever return.  He will remain a Second Chance resident.

Baby is a 20 year old blue and gold macaw. She is a past breeder and a severe plucker.
Peaches is a female Moluccan Cockatoo, 15 years old. She came to the shelter with a huge hole in her chest caused by plucking. She's staying with us forever. Read Peaches story

Tike comes to us from another shelter. She is a gorgeous 14 year old 4-way hybrid macaw. She is learning to hang out and have fun outside her cage.
Mama Red is a green wing macaw. She is 40 years old and almost blind. She likes to nest and coo on the top of her cage.
Musha is staying in the sanctuary as a permanent boarder. Her owners did the right thing and brought her here when they realised they couldn't give her enough attention. She is a 14 year old Moluccan Cockatoo.
Dusty is 20 years old, a blue front amazon. She is very sweet and loving.

Scarlet is a 17 year old harlequin macaw. She is the only bird in the sanctuary who does not have a cage. She lives on her branches and perches and will only let Barb touch her.
Rainbow is a wonderful bird.. Age unknown.
Mango is a male fischer lovebird. He loves to fly around and visit with the other birds.
Oliver and Kiwi are cherry head conures, both with plucking problems. They have become good friends. Oliver likes to sneeze and giggle.
Lorelei and Laurie and peach front conures, here to stay.
