Just got a call from someone on their way

She is living in a dog crate and has a hole in her chest,I
don't know how bad she is yet will post as soon as she gets

From what I am told she was in a nice cage these problems
started several months ago, they sent the bird to live with
someone and the mutilating got worse so they took her back, they
took her to the vet for the first time on the 2nd.
I am going to have blood tests done on her to see if there
is a underline cause of her mutilating.she was only in the
dog crate 2 nights, yes thats still to long, but all we can
do now is try to help her get better.Oh and she has scissor
beak and bumble feet.

Peaches had her surgery today, she did very well,The vet
said it was much worse then she thought and Peaches is not
out of the woods yet,she may require another surgery due
to she had massive amount's of scar tissue, she had a hard
time cutting through some of it.she was under for a hour
and recoverd well.she is stiched up and has a vest wrap
on.she is eating and drinking already, she goes back in again
Tuesday.
anyway here are some pictures of the surgery.

Update on Peaches vet visit today in Buffalo.First
let me say what a amazing vet we went to,they were so wonderful.Peaches
had some blood work done, had her beak fixed and had her
chest wrapped in a vest wrap to keep her from picking at
her sore, she is underweight and anemic.she will be going
back to the vet on Tuesday to have surgery, they will be
cutting open the wound and cleaning it out and stiching
it together.she is doing pretty well and is on meds.I will
keep all posted on her progress.Thank you Heather for spending
a very long draining day with me!

Peaches was actually yelling this morning when she saw me,so
thats a good sign.she was even playing.
We will be documenting her full progress,we have before
pics ,pics of her in her wrap and the vet will be taking
pictures of her surgery.I want people to see what this poor
bird and others go through due to not getting proper care.

Peaches is doing really well, she looks so good her feathers
have come in so nice. she comes out to play on top of her
cage, but you have to keep an eye on her at all times when
her collar is off,she will try to pick herself.she loves
to be petted but isn't big on being held, she will get nippy.she
still loves her towels and chews on them daily.she really
is a fighter,we all just love her at the shelter.
