Current residents available for adoption

Please note, we are a rescue, every penny that we receive for our birds is spent on those that are left behind. We provide an enriched environment, proper nutrition, behavioral modification and veterinary care for all that are under our care. Unfortunately that adds up to big bills . . . all adoptions and donations go towards supporting these expenses.

Those birds surrendered who arrive with a suitable cage, toys, and equipment are re-homed, or adopted out, with those same items. However, in many instances birds are surrendered without any items of care, to include a cage. During the birds stay at Second Chance Bird Rescue, we will provide the necessary items to house and care for the bird. However, prior to adoption, the new home must provide a suitable cage and the items necessary to care for the bird.

For this reason, we have a mandatory 24-hour holding period from application approval until the adoption of your new family member. Remember that while some birds are quieter than others, ALL large birds are capable of making quite the noise. We recommend our larger birds enter homes that are owned, not rented. "Molly" Species: Congo African Grey Sex: Unknown Age: 17 Years Notes: Molly was a boarder at SCBR and her owner never returned. Molly prefers men over women. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $550. Cage included with adoption fee.	"Nick" Species: Sulpher Crested Cockatoo Sex: Male Age: 20 Years Notes: A great boy who needs some time and attention to come out of his shell. he loves to plat and be spoken to, but needs some work with stepping up. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $600.
"Jake" Species: Blue Front Amazon Sex: Male Age: Unknown Notes: Jake spent most of his days in a cage and will need someone with Amazon experience to adopt him. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $350.	"Nick" Species: Timneh African Grey Sex: Male Age: unknown Notes: Nick is not a very friendly bird. He enjoys coming out on his cage and dancing but does not like to be touched. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $350.
"Danni" Species: Patagonian Conure Sex: Male Age: 14 years Notes: Danni is a very handsome guy that has been passed over for some more colorful birds. In person this guy has plumage that really sparkles! Danni does have some aggression issues that will need to be addressed in his new home. If you have experience with birds, are patient and are willing to take the time to establish a trusting and respectful relationship, please ask about Danni. Please note that Patagonians are known for their loud voices. For this reason we ask that only those who own their homes apply for Danni. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $200.	"Malibu" Species: Blue & Gold Macaw Sex: Female Age: 10 years Notes: Malibu and her brother have just come to the rescue. "C.B." Species: Umbrella Cockatoo Sex: Male Age: 23 years Notes: C.B. is a new addition, relinquished due to issues with aggression. We are currently evaluating the cause of this behavior and beginning behavior modification. C.B. will be available for adoption when we are sure he can go safely into his forever home. *Update 10/15: C.B. definitely has his preferences. He enjoys interacting with some people, begging for scritches, kisses and asking for his foot to be held. To others he displays aggressively and charges the bars. We've learned that he loves to dance, eat fresh fruits (apples, yummmmmy) and best of all, he sings "Happy Birthday!" We are continuing to watch C.B. to ensure that we can predict his behavior with individuals over a longer period of time. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $600.	"Sampson" Species: Umbrella Cockatoo Sex: Male Age: 21 years Notes: Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $600.
"M & M" Species: Yellow Naped Amazon Sex: Female Age: 14 years Notes: M&M is a gorgeous, fully feathered gal who loves life and enjoys her toys. Relinquished due to territoriality of her cage. She is currently working through her issues and will require an experienced "parront" to continue on. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $450.	"Peaches" Species: Goffin Cockatoo Sex: Male Age: 32 years Notes: Peaches is a handsome man, who was a former breeder. He was relinquished due to severe aggression and possession issues. He has been known to attack birds and other small animals, so is recommended as an only pet for a dedicated, experienced "parront." Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $600. 9/29/07 - Part of Peaches' adoption fee has been paid by a generous donor!!!

"Sunshine" Species: "Sunday" Conure Sex: Female (Susected) Age: 3 years Notes: Sunshine is a "Sunday" Conure, a hybrid between a Sun Conure and Jenday. She is a very sweet girl. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $200.	"Zepplin" Species: Hybrid (Senegal and Myers) Sex: Male Age: Unknown Notes: A very sweet bird that loves women. Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $300. Cage inlcuded with adoption fee.
"Maestro" Species: Quaker Parrot Sex: Male Age: 3 years Notes: Maestro is another gorgeous Quaker - looking for one person to bond with. This guy gets super attached to "his" person, so be prepared for a lovey-dovey guy that will protect you from everyone!!! Maestro is a favorite of the rescue, so be prepared to get LOTS of questions about suitability! Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $200.	"Jade" and "Quade" Species: Quaker Parrots Sex: Unknown Age: 10 years Notes: Jade and Quade are an amusing duo. Very bonded, they love watching the goings on of the bird room from their cagetop! They are looking for a home that will allow them to enjoy life! Jade and Quade enjoy the company of people, but are not very handleable. As with most Quakers, these guys can be territorial. Their forever home would need to learn how to teach them to be respectful of their new family and how to "step up" and "step down." Adoption Requirements: Approved application and a fee of $250. 	Linus and Lucy are a bonded pair of lovebirds of unknown age.
	A bonded pair of parrotlets, shy but curious.
	Jewel is a 2 year old Tiel. She is available for adoption.
	These are 2 male and 1 female Cockatiels, all in great health. 1 is friendly and the other 2 are mates and are not friendly. All are 3 yrs.
	This is Pixie (Dark Grey), Phoenix (Speckled) and Butercup (Lutino) Cockatiels.
	Bert and Ernie, Cockatiels, sex unknown. Approx. 1 year of age.
	Bugs and Lola, Cockatiels. Age unknown, ,must be adopted together.

	Payton and Chastity, 3 years of age, are a bonded pair of Cockatiels.
	Shetri is a 2 1/2 year old Dutch Blue Lovebird.
